You're right Scott, sadly programmers thinks as a "Programmers" and never as a "Designers". This new changes are great for a flyer designer guys, not for advanced Pros. Experienced users sometimes, just "sometimes" needs to try fonts, we usually know them by name and we choose straight what we need.
Typefaces should be grouped by family as default and maybe get into this "Preview Mode" when it need it. I'll keep PH CC to keep the efficient workflow and use PH CC 2014 only when I might feel "unsure" (5% or less of my time).
