You can now do a lot more in the metadata panel and open the IPTC dialog to see what is stored. If you select a thumbnail in Organizer and click the three small dots (see image) it will bring up a dialog for the metadata fields. You can change and re-save. For multiple images you can append or overwrite the metadata To add information to many photos all at once, select all the thumbnails, click the information tab and then click the button marked Add IPTC information. When selecting a batch this assumes you want all photos to have the same metadata, when overwriting.
