Catalyst 14.4 is a good driver version for use with Photoshop, at least wlth my ATI Radeon HD 7850.
Have you configured any overrides in the 3D Application Settings section?
Have you ever upgraded from a different video card in that system (i.e., might there be an older set of drivers still partially installed)?
